Message from the President

As students at one of the most prestigious universities in the world, we by definition have many traits in common. We each have an endless array of resources at our fingertips, a future with far more open doors than closed, and a level of ambition that is rarely paralleled.

What differentiates the brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi is the drive to turn this potential into the reality we each choose. Meetings from a corner office overlooking Hong Kong. Teaching English for the Peace Corps in Ukraine. Covering the trading desks of the best firms on Wall Street. Our members have found success in all corners of the world, and your opportunity to do the same can be found right here, in the Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi.

We are the single oldest and largest organization of our kind. The professional development offered to our brothers produces a competitive advantage that no one, regardless of age, concentration, or background should have to do without. The dedication we show to the future and each other is an asset that simply cannot be reproduced.

After five semesters as a brother of Alpha Kappa Psi, nowhere else have I found relationships stronger, principles higher, or people more worthwhile. The time you have to both experience today and prepare for tomorrow is limited, and extremely valuable. Take advantage of the opportunity to accomplish both as a member of this distinguished organization.

We are Alpha Kappa Psi and we are one of a kind. We invite you to find out why.

Chapter President, Fall 2006

About Alpha Beta Chapter

The Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi was founded at the University of California, Berkeley on April 3, 1999. United by educational and career goals, the founders envisioned the fraternity as a framework for development, networking, and brotherhood that previously could not be found in any classroom or club.

Our chapter has since expanded greatly. We have earned a campus-wide reputation for professionalism and have alumni working at top corporations around the world. Some of our numerous activities include co-sponsoring the Big Four Forum, hosting industry information forums, and sponsoring case competitions on campus. In 2002, we also introduced Alpha Beta Consulting, a non-profit student consulting group, to get hands-on consulting experience while giving back to the community. As a result of our continuous strides toward excellence, Alpha Beta Chapter was awarded the Chapter of the Year award in 2004.

One unique aspect of the Alpha Beta Chapter is our recognition that professional skills and basic understandings of business fields are essential to a wide variety of careers. From our founding, we have embraced the diversity of the UC Berkeley campus and take pride in the fact that we have brothers from a wide range of backgrounds.

Alpha Kappa Psi, Alpha Beta Chapter, is a student organization sponsored by the Walter A. Haas School of Business Undergraduate Program.
