Why AKPsi?

As one of three business fraternities on campus, AKPsi offers much more than just balanced professional and social development. Our brothers are highly accomplished students who are motivated to achieve more. Our alumni go on to rewarding and exciting careers. AKPsi provides the resources to help individuals reach their potential. We also recognize that business talent comes from all majors, and believe our openness to students of different backgrounds is one of our greatest strengths. We invite you to learn more about us and look forward to meeting you.

What differentiates AKPsi from the other fraternities?

Our breadth and depth. We not only offer everything (real-life consulting projects to analyst level valuation training) but we excel and are the best in all those areas. We don't just touch upon the basics. We achieve excellence in all areas we are interested in. The reason why we can achieve this is because of our diversity in majors and career paths. As a fraternity; we have a depth of knowledge of the business world that is only gained through diversity. We have brothers who can provide guidance and insight in all different industries. Essentially, we're the one-stop shop, all encompassing package for your future professional and personal needs.

What is rush?

Rush is a two week period in which events are held for prospective members to learn about our fraternity and for the fraternity to learn about its future members. Events include meet the chapter night, social night, professional night, as well as interviews and other individual evaluations. At the end of this period, applicants will be evaluated and bids will be distributed.

What kind of people does AKPsi look for?

There is not one specific type of person that AKPsi looks for, because we recognize that each individual has different strengths. However, our expectations are no different than those from any professional organization; we expect prospective members to be bright and motivated individuals who work well with others. Every individual that is given a bid earns it based on individual merits, not adherence to a preset image. We look for potential just as much as present qualities.

Do you have to attend all events in order to qualify for membership?

While it is not a requirement, we highly recommended prospective members to attend as many events as possible. It is difficult to thoroughly know each prospective member given the large number of applicants, so every moment in which we interact with a particular person helps make for a much more accurate decision process. Quality time leads to quality decisions that result in quality members.

Are there formal qualifications for membership?

There is a minimum of attending one event (Meet the Chapter, Social Night, Professional Forum), two interviews, and a rush application. First semester freshmen do not qualify for membership, although they are still welcome to rush.

If I do not get a bid the first time, can I rush again?

Rushing multiple times is allowed and even encouraged if one truly wants to join AKPsi. There is absolutely no penalty for coming another semester. In fact many members in our fraternity have rushed more than once.

What is pledging like?

The pledge process is a time in which pledges are challenged to push themselves to their limits and grow as a result. The experience in this period is unique and varies with each person. Despite this, there is one common thread. Those who complete the process will have participated in a learning experience unlike anything else offered on campus.
